2. What are the main principles of generative-syntax ? Discuss.

3. Trace the three stages of the evolution of the English language.

4. Describe in detail the place and manner of consonant sounds in English.

5. What do you understand by language planning ? Discuss the limitations of language planning.

6. Discuss the different types of bilingualism, and its consequences to the society.

7. Discuss the relationship amongst linguistics, literary criticism and stylistics.
