2. Outline the characteristics of human language. How are these different from animal communication ?
3. How would you classify the English vowels ? Discuss.
4. What are the tests that would help you to identify a syntactic constituent ? Give examples.
5. Discuss the consequences of bilingualism on the individual, society and the languages.
6. Give an account of the different types of language planning with examples.
7. Examine the `Indianness' of Indian English. How is it different from British/American English ?
