his widespread popularity, he received an invitation to perform shehnai at the
Red Fort on August 15, 1947, the day India gained its freedom. He received
numerous honors, including the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan.
The highest civilian honor in India, the Bharat Ratan, has also been bestowed
upon him. In front of King Zahir Shah, he performed a shehnai in Afghanistan.
He was also asked to perform at Lincoln Central Hall in the United States, the
World Exposition in Montreal, the Cannes Art Festival, and the Osaka Trade
Fair. His reputation is so widespread that in Teheran, an auditorium has been
named after him.
4. Ali Bux: Ustad Bismillah
Khan's maternal uncle was him. He gently imparted Shehnai's teachings to
Bismillah, just like a good teacher would. Bux was an industrious player of
Shehnai. He used to spend hours practicing the Shehnai. His exceptional
character trait was his lack of religious discrimination. He worked in the
Benaras Vishnu temple as a Shehnai player. Here, he attempted to win over Lord
Vishnu with Shehnai's endearing music. His persona had a significant impact. He
instilled in Bismillah the value of consistent practice and hard work.

Evelyn’s deafness was first noticed
