Attempt any two questions.

4. Critically analyse the poems of Charles Harpur and assess his contribution to the development of Australian poetry.

5. Discuss The Chosen Vessel as a feminist text.  

SECTION B

Attempt any three questions.

6. Comment on the various aspects of violence in the play The Removalists.

7. "Remembering Babylon exhibits a tension between remembering and forgetting." Discuss.

8. Examine the pressures of contemporary life explored in Bruce Dawe's poem 'At Shagger's Funeral'.

9. Critically analyse the interweaving of the themes of exploration and romantic sensibility in Patrick White's Voss.

10. Discuss the story Cranky Jack as an attempt to subvert paternal authority.
