Sarojini Naidu
Sarojini Naidu Biography , Works and Awards - Sarojini Naidu was an Indian independence activist and poet.
Born in Hyderabad in 1879, she was an active participant in the Indian National
Movement and was a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi. She was also known as
"The Nightingale of India" due to her poetry in English. Naidu held
several important positions in the Indian National Congress and was the first
woman to become the President of the Congress in 1925. She was also the first
woman to become the governor of an Indian state, serving as the Governor of
Uttar Pradesh from 1947 until her death in 1949.

Personal life of Sarojini Naidu
Sarojini Naidu was born on February 13, 1879, in Hyderabad,
India. She was the daughter of scientist and philosopher Aghornath
Chattopadhyay and Barada Sundari Devi. Naidu was married to Dr. M.
Govindarajulu Naidu at the age of 19 and had four children.
She was a highly educated woman and was proficient in several
languages including English, Bengali, Urdu, and Persian. Naidu started writing
poetry at a young age and became known for her poems that celebrated the Indian
freedom struggle, as well as for her works that focused on nature and human
relationships.
Naidu was an active participant in the Indian independence
movement and was arrested several times for her involvement in various protests
and demonstrations. She was also a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi and played
a key role in the Salt Satyagraha of 1930.
Naidu's legacy includes her contributions to Indian
independence and her poetry, which continues to be widely read and celebrated.
She died on March 2, 1949, in Lucknow, India.
