Note : Answer all the five questions. All questions carry equal marks. Answer to questions no. 1 and 2 should not exceed 600 words each.

1. "AIDS" is an epidemic of global proportions and hence a concern of the entire world. Discuss.

OR

Discuss the various ethical issues involved in HIV counselling.  

2. List the critical issues that need to be considered by a social worker while providing treatment and care to HIV/AIDS patients.

OR

What is the nature of grief and loss in the context of HIV/AIDS that is usually dealt with by counsellors ?

3. Answer any two of the following questions in about 300 words each :

(a) Discuss the laws that are useful to enforce the rights of PLHAs.  

(b) "Social workers have been able to disseminate information about HIV/AIDS." Discuss.

(c) Explain the various types of care required for and given to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs).

(d) What are the various guidelines for media coverage of stories involving HIV/AIDS in India ?

4. Answer any four of the following questions in about 150 words each :

(a) Differentiate between Mandatory, Voluntary and Routine 11W testing.  

(b) What is harm reduction ? Discuss with examples.

(c) Briefly describe models of behaviour change.

(d) Highlight the various qualities you would expect in a counsellor.

(e) Examine the factors that increase the HIV/AIDS vulnerability of workers in the organised sector.

(f) Enlist the role of social worker in HIV/AIDS service delivery.  

5. Write short notes on any five of the following in about 100 words each :

(a) Ways of preventing HIV

(b) Hunter Theory of HIV  

(c) Palliative care

(d) AIDS Risk Reduction Model (ARRM)  

(e) Characteristics of a good client

(f) Behaviour Change Communication (BCC)

(g) Stigma and discrimination

(h) Confidentiality
