the important features of Indo-Persian tradition of history-writing under the
Mughals.

discuss the contribution of Leopold Ranke to modern historiography.
5. List the
names of five important Marxist historians in the West. Discuss the works of
any two of them.
SECTION II
6. Explain
colonial historiography. Discuss some of the important historians and their
works associated with this trend.
7. Discuss
the post-modernist views on history. What is their importance in
history-writing ?

Critically analyse the main arguments of the Cambridge school on Indian
Nationalism.
9. What do
you understand by the term `subaltern' ? Discuss the development of subaltern
studies in India.
10. Write
short notes on any two of the following in about 250 words each :
