1. Enlist characteristics of community. Discuss the place of community work within social work practice.

Are there any guiding values and purposes of community organization ? Discuss. Highlight the assumptions that influence the method of community organization.

2. Explain with examples the popular social action model.

Discuss in brief the scope of Social Welfare Administration.

3. Answer any two of the following questions in about 300 words each :

(a) Define a tribe. Explain the social and economic structure of tribal communities.

(b) Which principles of community organization are most relevant for guiding its practice in the Indian context ?

(c) Explain the skills required by social workers at various stages of social action.

(d) What are Non-Governmental Organizations ? Discuss its characteristics and functions.

4. Answer any four of the following questions in about 150 words each :

(a) Critically analyze the Community Development Programmes in India.

(b) Differentiate between community organization and community development.

(c) "Social action is most apt in solving mass problems like poverty, child labour and female infanticide." Comment.

(d) What are bilateral and international organization ?

(e) Explain with an example the ways in which tribal communities are related to other communities.

(f) Describe with example how Human Rights form the conceptual base for social action.
