1. How is a research problem formulated ?

OR

Explain the major focus of study and steps in conducting qualitative research.

2. Define sampling. List the various types 20 probability sampling.

Discuss the various measures of central tendency.  

3. Answer any two of the following questions in about 300 words each :

(a) What is social work research ? Describe the nature and scope of social work research.

(b) Define action research. Describe the nature and objectives of action research.

(c) Enlist the types and techniques of interview.  

(d) Enumerate the various steps in testing   hypothesis.  

4. Answer any four of the following questions in about 150 words each :

(a) Enlist the conditions that are conducive to the formulation of hypothesis.

(b) Discuss briefly the steps in conducting a case study.

(c) Highlight the limitations of rating scales.

(d) Comment briefly on the uses of comment and summary in a research report.

(e) Define the term 'hypothesis'. Discuss the  importance of hypothesis in making a research proposal.

(f) List the six aspects of the conceptual 5 framework of qualitative research.

5. Write short notes on any five of the following questions in about 100 words each :
