1. Write a detailed note on the English Canadian theatre and drama.

2. There is great irony in Thomas King's poem `Coyote Sees the Prime Minister'. Do you agree ? Give reasons for your answer.

3. The following themes can be traced in Surfacing — consumerism, quest for identity, environmentalism and relationships. Elaborate on any two of these themes giving examples from the text.

4. Write a detailed note on Gabrielle Roy's naturalism as seen in the novel The Tin Flute.

5. The English Patient can be termed as a novel with diasporic sensibilities. Do you agree ? Give reasons for you answer.

6. "Sunday Afternoon" focuses on the vulnerability of women in modern society. Discuss by giving examples from the story.  

7. Write a detailed note on Rita's character as it emerges in the play The Ecstasy of Rita Joe.

8. Discuss the overall critical contribution of Northrop Frye.
