IGNOU M.PHIL ADMISSION
Indira gandhi national open
university offers master of philosophy (m.phil) under various specializations
including welfare work , economics, politics , commerce, among many others.
Ignou offers m.phil during a full-time learning mode. The amount of seats in
each specialization is different. The program fee is inr 12,600 with no
regulation for the applicants. One must have a master’s degree during a
relevant discipline before applying for admission. The admission is completed
on the idea of marks secured within the entrance exam followed by an interview
round.
Ignou m.phil course
structure
The minimum and maximum duration for
completing the m.phil program is 1 year and a couple of years respectively. The
coursework during the primary six months of admission are going to be conducted
in ignou campus in new delhi . A student has got to attend the coursework on a
daily basis with a minimum of 80% attendance.
The credit assigned to the m.phil
course is 16 credits of minimum 1-semester duration and a maximum of two
semesters. 80% attendance within the classroom teaching is compulsory for every
student pursuing m.phil program.
The course work per 4 credit course
are going to be delivered within the following manner:

Minimum number of hours
for classroom teaching-learning - 30 hours
·
Minimum number of hours
for library work - 20 hours
·
Minimum number of hours
for tutorial and other interactive activities - 10 hours
For successful completion of this
course, a student must score 55% marks separately in each component of every
course. Aside from the term-end examination, the scholars are required to
submit assessments like assignments, composition , fieldwork, lab-work, review
, conference , seminar, etc.
Ignou m.phil selection
criteria
Students meaning to take admission
to the m.phil program at ignou must be eligible for the topic . It must be
noted that each one m.phil students are going to be admitted within the
full-time duration of the course. The admission are going to be done on the
idea of the subsequent criteria:
Selection are going to be made
strictly on the idea of performance within the entrance test and interview. The
weightage given to the doorway test is 70% whereas 30% consists of performance
within the interview.
Students who secure 50% marks within
the entrance test (45% for sc/st/obc/ph) are going to be shortlisted for the
interview.
During the interview, a 40%
weightage is given to research aptitude, 40% to subject knowledge and 20% to
his/her communication skills.

process
The selection is completed on the
idea of the doorway test which can be followed by an interview. The ultimate
selection are going to be selected on the idea of respective performances
within the written test and can be involved the interview round.
Ø Stage 1: entrance test
The entrance test are going to be
conducted by the university at the national level in select examination centres
across the country.
The list of eligible candidates are
going to be displayed on the official website of the university. No separate
communication shall be sent to the candidates.
The students can download the hall
ticket from the ignou website. Applicants need to bring an ingenious identity
proof having photograph, like aadhar card, voter id card, driver's license ,
passport and id card at the examination center.
Students must score minimum 50%
marks within the entrance test to qualify the exam.
The entrance exam is conducted during a total of 13 cities across india. Tabulated below are the test centre with their code:
Ø Stage 2: interview/ presentation
The university will shortlist the
scholars for the interview/presentation round as per their performance within
the entrance test.
Ignou m.phil application
process
To enroll for admission in ignou,
the applicant must submit the appliance form available on the official website
of the university. They will apply online also as offline mode. However, it
must be noted that the appliance forms are available on certain dates before
the session commences. Follow the below-mentioned steps on the way to fill
ignou application form:
Step 1: visit the official website
of the university so as to get the appliance form.
Step 2: on visiting the web site ,
the candidate will need to click on the ‘admission link’.
Step 3: the candidate will need to
enter their respective email ids and password. After registering, the candidate
can log in.
Step 4: on logging in, the candidate
will need to click on the ‘apply now’ link. On doing so, the candidate can then
fill the appliance form.
Step 5: one must cross-check the
small print entered within the form. After doing so, the candidate is required
to upload a jpeg file of their respective passport size photographs and
signature.
Step 6: once the small print are
filled in, the candidate can proceed to pay the appliance fee i.e inr 1000. The
payment are often made in both online also as offline mode. For online payment,
one pays using credit/debit card/ netbanking. For offline payment, students
must send a requirement draft to the university address.
