What is Literature ?
It is group of many things, there is psychology, history and
myths. Literature defines the certain
reality of the period from which it belongs.
Literature is a written concept, through this one can
consider it as a novels, novellas, poetry, theory and speeches. The way of presentation
of literature have many types as in poetry, sonnets, ballads and epic. The
concept is difficult to precisely define, though many have tried, it's clear
that the accepted definition of literature is constantly changing and
evolving.
For many, the word literature suggests a higher art form;
merely putting words on a page doesn't necessarily mean creating literature.
A canon is
the accepted body of works for a given author. Some works of literature are
considered canonical, that is, culturally representative of a particular genre.
the writings of ancient civilization like India, Egypt,
and China, to Greek philosophy and poetry, from the epics of Homer to
the plays of Shakespeare, from Jane
Austen and Charlotte
Bronte to Maya
Angelou, works of literature give insight and context to all the world's
societies.

Types of Literature?
- Prose – Novel – the novel shows the life of character their social, cultural, economical, political background
- Short Story – it contains the short story , sometimes we can consider novel’s one or two chapter as a short story
- Plays – they usually presents on the stage and contains the dialogues, script and position of the characters
- Essay - It presents the viewpoint of the writer and it particularly contains writer’s own idea, Examples : Francis Bacon
- Biography – it shows the whole life of a personality, it sometimes consider as the mode of inspiration
